ServSafe Allergens ™ online training and certificate exam provides critical guidance on food allergen awareness for all employees in the restaurant industry and beyond. Perfect for those working or volunteering in school foodservice, healthcare, emergency response, and K-12/college/university academic environments.

Available in English or Spanish

A certificate of training completion is provided upon successful completion of the 90-minute training and 30-question exam for record compliance.

Key learning objectives:

  • Describe a food allergy
  • Explain the differences between a food allergy, a food intolerance, and Celiac disease
  • Read a label to determine if the product contains a potential food allergen
  • Identify personal hygiene best practices to avoid cross-contact
  • Communicate appropriately with all necessary parties when a customer indicates they have a food allergy
  • Explain how to clean and sanitize food contact and nonfood contact surfaces
  • Describe methods to prevent cross-contact when serving food
  • Identify best practices to prevent cross-contact when receiving, unloading, and storing food
  • Identify ways to designate dedicated equipment and allergy free ingredients
  • Explain how to respond to an allergic reaction emergency
