The Instructor Version of the Exam is used for Instructor applicants so that they are not taking the same Exam as their students, therefore lessening the chance that an Instructor might "teach to the test."

The Instructor Version of the Exam is administered like a normal ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Exam and is an option on all Exam Request Forms. The Exam can be administered via paper and pencil or online. A Registered ServSafe Proctor or Dual Role designee must order and administer the Instructor Version of the Exam for Instructor applicants.

Note: If a passing score of 70% is not obtained on the Examination, it can be retaken three times in a 12-month period with a 30-day waiting period between attempts.
